Last Wednesday ONTIER Chile took part in a webinar on e-commerce in Chile. The webinar was organised by the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce, and it gathered over 40 British companies. The event, which focused on the Chilean e-commerce sector, expected to mobilise about 3 billion dollars in 2017, also included some legal tips and strategies to implement e-commerce businesses in Chile.
Manuel José Pau, Partner at ONTIER Chile and ONTIER representative in the event, talked about the implications of starting an e-commerce business: how to settle in, the requirements to settle in, consumer regulations and data protection requisites.
Manuel José Pau noted that major legal reforms regarding consumer advocacy and data protection are expected for the upcoming months. These reforms aim to strengthen e-commerce businesses by promoting safe practices and new requirements for e-commerce entrepreneurs.
Lastly he talked about the extensive background ONTIER has in advising entrepreneurs and businesses seeking to strengthen their commercial footprint online, noting how our firm is home to legal professionals specialised in several legal disciplines and providing an international service regarding new technologies, international trade and e-commerce.
